Heaven’s Edge
I was blessed to spend two weeks in Hawaii to see my wife’s best friend and her husband who recently moved out there. During my time there, the Lord blessed me with some incredible clear nights where I was able to photograph the Milkyway reaching down into the Southern Hemisphere. This photograph is special to me because it shows the parts of the Milkyway I cannot see from my home further north. (For more information about this kind of thing, read my journal entry about the sphere of the Earth. The button is below!)
This blended image features the MilkyWay towering above the dimly lit cliffs with the ocean gently crashing against the coast. The location of this shot is Halona Blowhole, which faces toward the south. You can see the core of the Milkyway high in the sky with the star field in Norma brightly shining beneath Scorpius.
